SWIFT is the TELECOM club on campus, but our members base come from ALL career tracks within the CIS curriculum. Previously, we even have non-CIS majors joining the club. Just take a look at the profiles of the E-board members and you will find that we have E-board members from all the different career tracks. No matter whether you are on the Business Systems Analysis track, Telecommunications track, Applications Software Development track, Internet Programming and Security track, or still deciding on a track, you will surely find a place in SWIFT.
Events
With 5 major events such as Disney Day and Nortel Networks Day, along a Telecommunications Symposium planned in Spring, these big events are THE place to not only learn about the latest technology used in industry, but also THE place to talk to recruiters who might be hiring for internships, part-time, and full-time positions.
Socials
ESPN Zone, Downtown Disney, Dave and Busters...those are just some of the socials that SWIFT went on for the previous year. Socials are the perfect events to interact and get to know fellow SWIFT members better. Look forward to going to these places and others in this coming year.
Speakers
Government...Animation...Consulting...these are the three themes that we have for the following year for speakers coming in to speak to the club. Each theme, set within a timeframe of a quarter's time, would bring about speakers who are part of that specific industry. For example, "Government Quarter" is going to entail speakers from government agencies such as the FBI Cyber Squad NSA, and CIA.
Workshops
Having speakers come in to speak about their work is one thing, having members actually do some hands-on activities is another. SWIFT is a club that not only wants to inform, but also teach members things that they are interested in. Workshops based on members' suggestions takes place throughout the year. Some popular workshops of past included "Build a PC" and "Linux".
